Triggers is a startup dedicated to making teamwork, and the creative process more efficient and human by facilitating collective thinking in a direct, pragmatic and flexible approach with consulting services and innovative tools.
If you’re a natural at it — lucky you! But if you’re that teammate who knows that there’s something wrong, but doesn’t know exactly what it is or the teammate who’s too hesitant to express how they feel towards the situation, we get you. It’s a common problem that many, if not, all teams face, especially during the pandemic. There really is no other way to face this friction other than dealing it face to face, and that’s a good thing because it helps a team grow into a stronger and empathetic one. We believe that true reflection allows teams to be more self-aware, and therefore, efficient and proactive in solving their team friction.
Analyzing past decks and researching team communication to develop effective statements for the Reflection Cards Collection
1.
By studying past deck designs and researching team communication strategies, we can create cards that enhances user experience and fosters clearer reflections and constructive feedback sessions.
2.
I analyzed communication in team processes, collaborating with team members to document potential statements relevant to the new cards.
The deck collection features two components: the Team Deck, focused on team improvement, and the Remote Deck, a free tool for remote work enhancement. Initially planned as a physical tool, the pandemic prompted a digital transition. This case study spotlights the Team Deck's step-by-step content language, guiding users through reflection stages. By categorizing "Relatable" and "Unrelatable" scenarios, teams can identify relevant issues and engage in solution-driven discussions.
We conducted mixed-method research through BETA testing sessions, allowing testers to provide direct feedback on the Team Deck. Afterward, participants completed forms containing closed-ended and open-ended questions, assessing their experience and offering suggestions for improvement.
After the testing sessions, we gathered all the feedback to analyse what are the improvements that were needed to make. One of the most important feedback was how redundant the statements were and this was necessary for analysis as we want a smooth and easy process for team members to understand and go through the statements.
Lessons I learnt during my first experience with content and UX writing
1.
Documenting each project stage is crucial for future reference and ongoing progress. It ensures a clear record of decisions, changes, and methodologies, allowing team members to efficiently manage issues and maintain continuity.
2.
Further testing with diverse users is crucial for uncovering hidden issues, gathering varied perspectives, and refining features based on real-world feedback. This iterative process improves intuitiveness, effectiveness, and user satisfaction, ultimately boosting overall quality.
3.
I realized the importance of extensive UX research. Utilizing various research methods and collecting extensive feedback leads to more informed design decisions and a refined, effective final product.
What's next? How would we analyse the impact?
Since we were on a tight deadline, we finalised the project and launched it. I'd also work more with my teammates to analyse the impact through:
Pre- and Post-Assessment Surveys: Use surveys to measure changes in team communication, collaboration, and problem-solving before and after using the Team Deck. This helps assess its impact on team performance and dynamics.
Success Stories and Case Studies: Gather and analyze detailed case studies or success stories from teams that have used the Team Deck, highlighting specific improvements or achievements.
Competitive Analysis: Compare the Team Deck’s sales performance with similar products in the market. Identify strengths and weaknesses relative to competitors and use this information to refine your sales strategy.
Content Effectiveness: Evaluate how well the content within the Team Deck supports users in achieving their goals. Analyze whether users find the content relevant, clear, and useful for their team improvement processes.
